CD covers; refined research

All of the album covers below are ones that are extremely clever yet it isn't unrealistic for me to acheive an album cover that looks similar to one of these. These are all done by bands that are the same genre as ours so I think it is useful to look at these. They are all very simplistic yet effective, especially the Fountains of Wayne ones which are disjunctive but still aesthetically pleasing.
The Vampire Weekend and Black Kids are similar in the sense that they only show the tops of people's heads and above that. The Black kids one is effective as it only shows the tops of the bands heads - so they are still in view from the camera yet the album/band name is the predominant feature. This is the same with the Vampire Weekend yet the band do not feature on the album cover at-all which is equally effective as they have an interesting cover.
