Further Market Research
As stated by Billboard this song is the top of the 'Alternative' chart. Therefore I think the video accompanying it again is invaluable to help us with inspiration and research for our music video.
Things I particularly like that I believe we can achieve is the constant use of zoom (both in and out) and the transition between in and out of focus. This video uses both a lot and it allows both to see the main focus of the frame but also adds to the pace of the video and allows the editing to keep up to speed with the beat of the song.
I also really like how they are playing on a roof as it is an iconic scene to set and refers back to The Beatles. However this would one, be really hard to find an available roof that we were allowed to use and two, mean that risk assessments and potential hazards would shoot up. The idea of them above the crowd below however would be possible through other means such as high angles for a crowd and low angles for the band as this allows the significance of the band to be represented; although actually finding that amount of people to be available and cooperate at the same time would be virtually impossible for us.
I also like the simplicity of the video as it is just literally the band doing what they do best- performing. This idea I do think works well and I believe we should strongly consider something similar or at least include certain aspects. I believe it sets the image and context of the band and allows fans/viewers to feel more personally connected to the band.
